Manufacturing Shop Technician

Position Highlight:

You will be responsible for the manufacturing and mass-production of the key components of our product, the TrailerTail®. You will produce tens of thousands of production parts each month that will be the key component of our post-sales customer fulfillment.

Position Overview:

As a manufacturing shop technician you will:

• Mainly work in the evenings at our South San Francisco location
• Run our CNC plasma cutting table
• Perform post-processing work on the cut parts
• Perform forming with a press brake
• Cut and weld using stainless steel square tubing
• Help maintain the manufacturing cell, including all equipment and tooling
• Additional projects and tasks will be assigned as required
• There may be occasional travel within USA and in North America

All parts are cut from 11 gauge stainless steel sheet metal; after deburring and inspection, they are bent to shape using a press brake and/or welded. 

Position Title, Schedule and Compensation:

Your starting title will be “Shop Technician”, you will report to the Manufacturing Shop Foreman, your hours will be 3PM to 11PM Monday through Friday with $10-$12/hr compensation based on your experience/ability.

Job Requirements:

• Operate a CNC plasma cutter
• Trouble-shoot basic plasma cutting equipment errors and breakdowns
• Deburring, sanding, and grinding of cut parts
• Visual inspection of parts to ensure high quality control
• Communicate effectively with day shift workers and Engineering Manager

Required Experience and Background:

• Prior experience and strong ability with basic machine shop equipment
• Familiarity with CNC plasma-cutting software and computer skills
• Extensive proof of very strong attention to detail
• Impeccable safety and quality records
• Undisputable record of dependability and integrity
• Effective communication skills, eagerness to be trained, team work
• Desire to work in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced start-up environment
• Very strong references
