ULTRA-FLEX, IMPACT RESISTANT PANELS
Our skirts are constructed of ultra-durable and flexible proprietary thermoplastic composite panels similar to the material used in trailer scuff liners. The material’s cross-woven fibers provide the strength and flexibility for the panels to bend but not break in collisions or contact with under-trailer obstacles. The skirt panels are highly impact resistant and designed to withstand frequent contact with tough on-road elements such as concrete curbs, steep loading docks and ice banks.
ATDynamics side skirts are also extremely lightweight for minimal impact on payload.
SMART DESIGN AND ENGINEERING
One of the key distinguishing features of ATDynamics side skirt technology is the patented flexible strut design. Our struts are made of the same flexible thermoplastic composite material as the panels to allow maximum flexibility of the skirt to bend almost completely under the trailer, safely accommodating any under-trailer obstacles encountered with no damage to the skirt panels. The ultra-flexible panels and brackets are designed to spring back into normal position and shape after clearing the under-trailer obstacle.
COLD WEATHER PERFORMANCE
ATDynamics side skirts have been proven to operate in all weather conditions with no performance compromises. The panel material is designed to repel rain, ice and snow and is temperature resistant so it does not expand or contract in extreme heat or cold. All metal hardware components are made of galvanized steel to prevent damage from rust and salt. Side skirts significantly reduce road spray in wet, wintry conditions and improve visibility for both your drivers and the public.
ATDynamics side skirt technology is compatible with all trailer models and is available to be factory installed on new trailer orders or retrofitted to your existing fleet. Custom options are available for trailer applications requiring access to underside mounted equipment such as hydraulic lift-gate boxes, loading ramps and spare tire carriers. All skirt options provide 10”-13” of ground clearance.

The California Air Resources Board (CARB) has adopted the Heavy-Duty Vehicle Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction Regulation to improve the fuel efficiency of heavy-duty tractor and 53' trailer combinations through fleet implementation of tractor and trailer aerodynamics and low rolling-resistance tires.
The ATDynamics side skirt provides full compliance with the 2010 CARB regulations as a stand-alone device, tested to deliver 7.4% fuel savings at 65 mph.
In order to meet the CARB regulation, aerodynamic devices must be verified by the US EPA’s SmartWay group using approved fuel efficiency testing methodologies. Aerodynamic devices are currently verified in either a 1% or 5% fuel savings category.
ATDynamics side skirts are verified by EPA SmartWay in the “Advanced Trailer Skirt” category, delivering over 5% fuel savings.
