Advanced Transit Dynamics, Inc. (ATDynamics) was founded in 2006 to rapidly commercialize patented rear-drag reduction technology for tractor trailers. The company has grown to have the engineering capabilities and industry relationships to bring a rapidly growing portfolio of fuel-saving technologies to market.
The management team has received multiple awards for business excellence including 1st place out of 250 teams in the world's largest business plan competition at Rice University Graduate School of Management in Houston, TX and 2nd place out of 109 teams competing in the Global Social Venture Competition hosted by Columbia University in New York. In 2007, the ATDynamic's engineering team won the Most Innovative Product Award in CleanTech from CONNECT in San Diego.
The company is headquartered in South San Francisco, CA with company advisors located in Arizona, California, Michigan, New Hampshire, New York, Tennessee, Texas and the Netherlands.
Management
Andrew Smith, Co-Founder and CEO: With 10 years of international experience focused on the commercialization of sustainable energy technology, Mr. Smith is now dedicated to overseeing the rapid commercialization of fuel efficiency technology in the trucking industry. Prior to founding ATDynamics, Andrew led economic development and business strategy consulting projects on four continents in the transportation, manufacturing and energy sectors.
Chuck Horrell, Vice President of Engineering: Mr. Horrell joined ATDynamics after a career in automotive design, engineering and product development. Mr. Horrell’s success overseeing the ATDynamics product line stems from extensive work on truck component design with Ford Motor Company and collapsing orthopedic devices relevant to ATDynamics collapsible rear-drag technology.
Jeff Grossmann, Senior Associate Engineer: After 5 years of studies in mechanical engineering at Dartmouth College's Thayer School of Engineering, Mr. Grossmann now specializes in product development and works with fleet customers to ensure the reliability of ATDynamics technology.
Greg Smith, Vice President of Sales: With over 20 years experience in the trucking industry, Greg works closely with fleet partners to ensure best-in-class fuel efficiency performance. Prior to joining ATDynamics, Greg was a VP Sales with TBEI, Inc, a leading manufacturer of truck body equipment, general manager of Fontaine Modification Company, a large manufacturer of highly engineered trucking industry products, and held senior leadership positions at Clifford Power Systems, Volvo Trucks North America, and Allison Transmission.
Jon Stone, Vice President of Corporate Development: With over two decades of experience in corporate development at technology companies and venture capital investing, Mr. Stone oversees new partnership development, acquisition strategy, and key customer accounts.
Steven Rodger, Operations Manager: 6 years experience guiding entrepreneurial businesses with an MBA from California Polytechnic University and an environmental science degree from UCSB. Mr. Rodger focuses on developing innovative marketing and instructional materials for new fuel efficiency products in the trucking industry.
Geoffrey Johnson, Director of Regulatory Affairs: 5 years experience in energy policy and regulation with op-eds in the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, and other publications. Mr. Johnson manages regulatory issues, grant proposals, and public relations.
